💖Helping Couples Move from Conflict to Connection

At Marriage Works, we are dedicated to advancing thoughtful, ethical, and heart-centred practice in relationship therapy. We believe that every partnership has the potential for deep healing and joy. While Chris and I love sharing the tools and evidence-based approaches that transformed our own marriage, we know that the strongest support for couples comes from a vibrant community of diverse voices.

We invite you to join our crew of experienced relationship psychologists, trainers, and clinicians. This is a dedicated space for Relational Wisdom—a place for considered clinical thinking, practical tools, and professional dialogue grounded in decades of experience supporting couples who still choose each other.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome practical, compassionate articles that help couples feel understood and empowered. Whether you specialise in Imago, EMDR, DBR, or Resource Therapy, we want your unique perspective.

Our Favorite Topics Include:

  • Communication: Moving from “criticism” to “connection.”
  • Healing Together: How tools like Imago, EMDR, or DBR help couples move past old triggers.
  • The Imago Journey: Making sense of the “power struggle” and finding the way back to love.
  • Daily Love Habits: Small changes that make a big difference.
  • Referral Insights: Tips for therapists on how to support couples in crisis.
  • Unique to You: Insights, reflections, or “room-tested” strategies you’ve found helpful as a therapist, an individual, or a partner.

Our Golden Rule: No Jargon

Our readers—both couples and professionals—are often looking for clarity in moments of distress. We ask that you write in plain, warm, British English.

  • Instead of “Internal Family Systems,” talk about “the different parts of us.” * Instead of “Clinical Modalities,” talk about “ways to heal.” * Instead of “Affect Regulation,” talk about “finding your calm together.”

Guidelines for the Heart

  • Word Count: 600–1,000 words.
  • Tone: Compassionate, hopeful, and professional.
  • Originality: We only accept original work not published elsewhere.
  • Referencing: Keep it light for the reader. Use links to sources rather than formal academic lists (though we appreciate current APA style for our records).
  • Bio: Include a 50-word bio and a link to your practice.
  • Stay in Your Lane: Please share from your specific area of expertise and competence.

Professional & Ethical Standards

Marriage Works is committed to the highest clinical and ethical standards. All content must align with:

  • Confidentiality: Material must be fully de-identified.
  • Professional Codes: We adhere to the guidelines set by AHPRA, ACA, PACFA, and the APS.
  • AI Policy: If you use AI tools to help draft, please ensure you have thoroughly reviewed and “humanised” the text. We want your humanity and professional voice to shine through.
