It is tough for parents out there knowing how to handle the rough spots and raise our children to be responsible caring young people.

So I came across a really fantastic website that I thought I would pass on to you: Hand in Hand Parenting.

Study finds couples aged 25-34 would stay in an unhappy marriage for the sake of the children

This is what 50% of couples aged 25-34 surveyed by law firm Slater & Gordon said when asked if they would stay in an unhappy marriage with children. This study canvassed more than 2000 married and defacto couples. Interestingly only 44% of those aged 44-54 would remain married. Couples married for three to four years were the most likely to stay in the relationship. The Australasian Institute of Sexual Health Medicine Conference

I had the good fortune to attend this conference on the weekend. I was lucky enough to be invited by my friend Alison Richardson who happens to be a Director of the Australasian Institute of Sexual Health Medicine (AISHM). Alison has had an illustrious career and is an experienced sexual health and relationships counsellor and educator.

Ego State Therapy benefits!

While not exactly a new theory of therapy – Ego State Therapy has been around for 50 years now. It was based on the ideas of Paul Federn, Edward Weiss and Sigmund Freud.

Professor John G. Watkins and his wife Helen H. Watkins combined research and theory to develop this powerful therapeutic approach.

I read a piece in Sunday Life magazine called “Beloved Infidel”, where one woman took what was arguably the more difficult road after her husband had an affair – she took him back.

This inspired me as a relationship therapist.
